Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
Tremble and do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
Offer the sacrifices of the righteous
and trust in the Lord. (Psalm 4:3-5)
What does it mean to offer the sacrifices of the righteous? When we consider that our righteousness only comes from Jesus Christ, who paid the price for our sins, and when we consider that the LORD himself tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice, it is apparent that the sacrifice of righteousness is to live in loving obedience to our LORD And Savior Jesus Christ.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2).
It all begins with the renewing of your mind. Allow God's word-the Bible-to transform your life. The Bible is not some archaic collection of someone else's opinion; it is the way that God has chosen to reveal Himself to us - by inspiration by the Holy Spirit - through the lives of flawed ordinary people just like you and me
