When I consider the state of this country—and the world in general—I oftentimes wonder how it is that the world cannot plainly see that there is only one answer—Jesus Christ. Everything is just fine with them. They don’t even seem to know the question. Believe it or not, the answer is not Biden or Trump. I am reminded of the account of the flood as spoken of in Matthew:
37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man (Matthew 24:37-39).

It’s not that there was anything wrong with eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. He is making the point that they were clueless; everything was going on as normal while they were being warned of the need for repentance. And they didn’t heed. The people of today are no different. They are oblivious to the need for repentance and adherence to the word of God. If it feels good, then it’s got to be right.

And then I think of these verses from Matthew 11:25-30:
25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. 27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

The Father, even today, hides things from the wise and learned—those wise in their own conceit; but our eyes have been opened. No one knows the Father except whom the Son chooses to reveal him. It is not that God is a respecter of persons, and picks and chooses who will be saved; it is that he allows those who are full of themselves, and have bought into Satan’s lies, to continue to help carry out His plan for the end times. Take comfort in the fact that He will give you peace in spite of the turmoil in this world. Continue to reach out to others in the name of Jesus, so that they too can have their load lifted and experience the peace that passes all understanding. No, there is no guarantee that the wrongs of this country will ever be undone; but we are guaranteed that someday we will dwell with Him in a new heaven and a new earth (Rev. 21).
